Examples of Subordinating Conjunctions

The conjunctions tell you about condition, purpose, time, manner, place or cause.

  • She left the house after he came. (time sequence)
  • My boss gave him the job as long as he worked well. (conditional time)
  • Give me the money back as soon as possible. (time)
  • The girl wants to go to Germany in order to study German. (purpose)
  • The dog follows me wherever I go. (place)
